Purpose of Position:
Hitachi Consulting’s Pacific Southwest practice is currently experiencing growth, and we are looking for strong individuals to add to our team. Due to our continued success we are seeking qualified candidates who are interested in playing key roles in leading and participating in consulting engagements in a variety of target areas.

Responsibilities
• Recognized internally and externally as one of a small number of experts in their respective technical and/or functional area of expertise
• Provides deep technical/functional expertise to senior level clients (C-level down) either as a trusted advisor or as part of a large projects
• Provides deep technical/functional expertise, mentoring and coaching to team members
• Architects solutions and systems in line with best practices and reviews and QA’s designs and architectures developed by clients and/or team members
• Formally presents to client and internal audiences and at external speaking events including seminars, user groups and at universities on technical/functional expertise areas
• Typically performs work at the client site but may also work at a Hitachi Consulting office location as appropriate
• Actively and prolifically creates knowledge capital that can be leveraged to accelerate project delivery, improve quality and to secure new engagements
• Initiates and leads internal initiatives that will share knowledge, develop our people, produce knowledge capital and generate business and growth
• Works as a technical/functional leader within consulting and is seen as the go to person within the company for their specific area of expertise
• Regularly contributes articles, white papers, thought leadership pieces to internal and external publications, conferences and seminars

Essential Duties
Works on projects of all sizes. Provides the highest-level subject matter expertise (SME) to internal and external clients. Completes complex technical and functional tasks. Provides leadership to others within the practice or on a project, especially in regard to the disciplines in which he or she has expertise. Activities may include:
 Sets technical/functional goals and objectives for the multiple and/or complex projects
Manages the technical/functional phase of a project when appropriate
Participates in scoping, estimating and risk management efforts
Anticipates and responds to changes in client expectations; monitors and uses client
feedback

Internal initiatives/activities
o Actively participates in practice development activities including prospecting and proposals
o Identifies cost/benefit implications of proposed solutions (e.g. people, processes, technology, strategy, finance)
o Determines how the company can share and exploit new trends in the market
o Continually grows expertise and knowledge in areas of specialization
o Develops new analytical approaches and frameworks
o Participates in the research and identification of potential new alliances
o Proactively pursues speaking engagements, article publications, presentations, etc.
o Actively participates and may lead internal initiatives
o Provides insight and direction to others throughout the company related to solution major
o Actively involved as a Career Advisor
o Actively participates in recruiting process

Education and Work Experience
• Established recognition/reputation in external technology/solution circles
• Bachelor’s degree in a Business discipline, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or some related discipline required
• Advance degree such as a MBA or MIS is a plus
• 10 + years of experience in a functional or technical area that supports a solution or industry offering
• Minimum of 10 years of equivalent consulting experience required

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Deep expertise in Finance.
Authors technical/functional documents, white papers, articles and presentations and oversees the writing of client reports, presentations and other larger written communications
Gifted and compelling orator and speaker regularly sought out internally and externally
Able to facilitate meetings and working sessions with client and internal personnel on complex and possibly divisive or controversial subjects and topics
Communicates complex technical/functional information, scenarios or specifications to multiple internal and external business and technical audiences in a way that suits the audience being addressed
 Effectively mentors, coaches, guides and leads internal teams and client resources on area of expertise
Leads teams of focused subject matter experts and supports project directors and OIC’s in the management of clients, accounts and project teams
Works well independently or on a team
Able to work effectively on multiple projects at different clients concurrently
Demonstrated success in developing people and knowledge capital
Proficient in software designed to support area of expertise
