Our Client – a growing division of one of the largest companies in the world with (parent co. has $100 billion in sales and 200k employees worldwide) needs a Senior Controls Engineer for their corporate engineering group with PLC and HMI programming and project experience. This position is in the controls department of 12 permanent employees and many contractors and provides internal consulting / engineering services to 18 plants in North America.  Note1: The automation systems include A/B PLC, Modicon, and iFIX HMI. Note2: The unit operations include batching, mixing, milling, blending, proprietary extrusion involving process controls (75%) and some filling, packaging, palletizing needing discrete controls (25%).  Job Description: 90 %: Provide project engineering functions for the controls aspect of the projects. Develop technical specifications for PLC, MMI and SCADA systems for process, batching, extrusion and packaging applications. Oversee vendors, consultants, contractors for capital projects implementation. Plan, develop, coordinate and direct multiple projects or one project with major scope and importance. Deal with difficult problems by coming up with unique and novel approaches. Interact with operations and plant personnel to obtain input to provide product acceptable to customers.  10 %: Provide Best Practice: Develop standards, new controls initiatives, technology development, etc. Conceive, plan and conduct research in problem areas. Seek out and apply methods, procedures, practices and technology to improve performance level and efficiency of assigned tasks. Candidate Must Have:  B.S. degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering Total of 5 – 15 years of professional experience. 5 years of automation / controls experience Min. 2 years of hands-on programming experience with PLC, HMI. Min 2 years of Project engineering experience. Excellent people and team skills.Candidate-Nice to Have:    Some corporate engineering, design engineering company experience Experience with A/B or Modicon PLC and iFIX HMI.
