This position is located in Portland, Oregon and will require relocation for the selected individual.

Craft Brewers Alliance is currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Analyst.

 Job DescriptionPrimary Roles
The primary purpose and function of position is to support CBAi’s sales and marketing organization with analytics, reporting and recommendations to optimize volume and profitability, track and report on sales activity in support of various business objectives/programs, and pro actively identify and analyze positive or negative factors impacting sales.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform business analytics using data from various sources (data warehouse, syndicated data sources (IRI) and operations data) in support of CBAI Marketing & Sales organization, including but not limited to:
• Establishment and execution of core business analytics. Trend analysis and root-cause identification will be key responsibilities.
• Development of analytical models to track key metrics and performance for sales and marketing at various levels, including market, category, brand, customer and SKU.
• Provide fact-based recommendations and insight to all levels of Sales and Marketing management at the tactical and strategic levels, supported by analytical models.
• Track and report on sales performance across multiple channels, taking into account new product/package roll outs and assessment of competitive threats/opportunities.
• Ad-hoc analysis as directed
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to define where customization in analytics and reporting is required and assess resource allocations to meet those needs.
• Implement and maintain a sales (STR-based) forecasting model. Coordinate forecasting information exchange with the Finance and Operations teams and analyze forecasting trends relative to established business targets.
• Pro actively pursue research on leads to facilitate the identification of growth and profit opportunities and design measures to report on the company’s success in addressing them.




Required Skills
• Complete understanding of sales processes in beverage industry• The ideal candidate has worked for a consumer packaged goods company
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Expert-level technical skills including Excel, Access, MS Reports, PerformancePoint.
• Ability to achieve high levels of results in team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
• Excellent relationship development and management skills, particularly field sales interface and support.
• Outstanding attention to detail

Required Education and Experience
• Bachelors degree in Business, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related work experience.
• 3 or more years of analytical experience, preferably in the beverage industry
• Experience in ‘ground-up’ development of analytics, analytical processes (data mining, reporting and insight generation from Access and PerformancePoint, amongst other data streams) and data stream management in support of tactical and strategic objectives.
• Experience in working with consumer research data (IRI, Nielsen, Spectra)
