Safety and Environmental Manager
Job consists of routine safety and environmental audits and inspections. Perform accident investigations and implement corrective actions as required. Manage safety committee and accident review board and the assignment of disciplinary measures as required. Perform required monthly safety training and new hire safety orientations. Manage, evaluate and implement changes as needed for required OSHA safety programs such as: PPE, Haz-Com, MSDS, Chemical databases, PSM, Risk Mgmt., Powered Industrial Truck, Contractor-Vendor Insurance Certificate Program, Contractor Safety, Safety Incentive Program and others as required. Manage environmental programs such as CalArp, TRI reporting, Storm water and Spill prevention and countermeasure control. Work closely with claims administrator and attend corporate safety training meetings as required. Safety, Health and environmental compliance, planning and permitting for Alta Dena Operations. Prepare and submit accurate safety and environmental reports (regulatory, corporate and site) on a timely basis Participate in and monitor site processes, specifically incident/accident investigations, inspections and audits, process safety, training and behavior safety Ensure high standard is initiated and maintained in all areas, continuous SH&E improvements are made, company maintains excellent presence as a community leader Manage and implement SH&E training to all site employees Maintain a high degree of awareness and understanding of federal, state and local regulations on SH&E issues and communicate them simply and effectively Train and develop supervisors and other line management employees to understand, lead and administer SH&E programs and policies Conduct internal audits of SH&E systems on a routine basis to assure the systems are robust and functioning and provide compliance with regulatory and company standards Bachelor's Degree required 5 yr industry SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT experience required. Proven track record in leading safety, health and environmental programs Dairy, food and/or Beverage Manufacturing industry experience desired Must have specific technical knowledge and practical experience in CA and Federal Regulations such as but not limited to: Cal-OSHA, OSHA Process Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Hazard Communication, Risk Management (Cal-ARP), South Coast AQMD Rules and regulations, Waste Water Treatment and Discharge, CFR 29 1910.119 (Haz-Wopper), and Hazardous Waste Management in a manufacturing environment Basic understanding of Federal, State and local regulatory compliance agencies such as OSHA, EPA and LACSD.
