Royalty Accountant
JAKKS Pacific Inc., located in beautiful Malibu is a multi-brand company that designs, develops, produces and markets traditional toys, leisure products and writing instruments for children and adults worldwide, seeks a Royalty Accountant to join their Finance Department.
Job Description:
The royalty accounting department at JAKKS Pacific, Inc. is responsible for the quarterly reporting and payment of earned royalties for a significant number of licensors. These licensors range from entertainment studios to product inventors to athletes. The royalty accountant will be responsible for reporting royalties and corresponding with assigned licensors on a regular basis. The royalty accountant will also correspond regularly with the Licensing Director, Senior Finance Manager, and Royalty Manager.
Essential job functions will include: Generating sales reports in JD Edwards, journal entry preparation, high volume sales data extraction from MS Excel, reporting net sales by item number on royalty statements, abstracting license agreements in our database, insuring adherence to license agreements, and identifying licensed item numbers.
Requirements:
· Strong MS Excel skills and analytical skills
· Knowledge of JD Edwards and MS Access preferred
·2-3 years experience in general accounting, licensing, or royalty accounting.
· College degree required
· Ability to comprehensively analyze license agreements
· Very detail oriented with strong organizational skills
· Ability to meet strict deadlines, working over-time if necessary
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
