We are currently are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and innovative Registered Dietitian with Strong Dietary Supplement / Vitamin knowledge and background. This position will be based in our Northridge, California Corporate facility. The specific requirements for the position are as follows:

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Effectively communicate the latest nutrition science information to consumers, media, health care professionals, and retail customers. Provides scientific support for the development of new dietary supplements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:NatureMade.com: Writes and updates nutrition articles and nutrient descriptions for the Wellness Advisor.  Answers email inquiries from consumers regarding nutrition and dietary supplements.Vitamin Herb University (VHU) Website:  Provides updates on nutrition and dietary supplements, and assists in the development of educational tools and marketing opportunities for the VHU website.Public Relations/Media:  Works with public relations as a nutrition expert to promote Nature Made products, good nutrition and the benefits of dietary supplements, which may include a proprietary and innovative nutrition bar.  Writes articles for publications and serves as a spokesperson on nutrition matters for television, radio, and the press.Education:  Presents education opportunities, as needed using PowerPoint, and assists in the creation and development of some or all of the following: educational brochures about Nature Made products and health platforms for retail accounts, proprietary nutrition bar products, and recent clinical research for health care professionals, including pharmacists at key retailers.Conferences:  Works exhibit booths at medical and professional conferences and symposia, as well as general trade shows.  This to include booth set up and tear down functions.Product Support:  Provides scientific review and summary of new nutrition concepts and novel ingredients in support of new product development.Provides educational support for sales, marketing and other departments, as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Requires a 4 year college or university degree or its equivalent in nutrition, biologic sciences, women’s health, or sports nutrition; Master’s degree in Nutrition or nutrition-related field preferred. Registered Dietitian (active status) is required. Incumbent must also possess three (3) to five (5) years experience within nutrition education and business industry or private practice.

 

Additional Requirements and Qualifications include:

 In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following: human nutrition, disease states, and women’s health lifestyles including exercise.Working knowledge of dietary supplements and their role in wellness is essential.Excellent communication skills, strong writing skills and ease with public speaking; media training preferred.Ability to understand, influence and communicate well with colleagues and customers (including health care professionals).Ability to work independently and professionally; strong team player; sound organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel.Familiarity with Web/Internet; especially with searches and retrieval of medical and scientific literature.Ability to effectively analyze and critique peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals for support of Scientific Affairs and educational programs.

 

Physical Requirements:

General office environment; ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to move about an office. Requires travel of approximately 15-25% of the time.
