Regional Sales Manager - Food Ingredients (AZ)

Mizkan Americas, Inc. is privately held by the Mizkan Group Corporation, one of the most well respected food companies in the world and the largest producer of vinegar globally.
We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager to manage Food Ingredients product sales and achieve sales volume and profitability targets for the Western Region. This position reports to the National Sales Manager –Food Ingredients and has no direct reports. The Regional Sales Manager’s office will be located within the area of responsibility, with convenient access to a major airport. Locations such as Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Las Vegas will be considered. Approximately 50% travel is expected. This position is bonus eligible.
Major responsibilities are as follows:
Maintain and grow current business levels and secure new sales opportunities.Develop regional budget and manage expenditures and region profitability. Develop, present, and implement customer plans that meet sales volume goals and profitability levels by product category and by customer within the sales region.Communicate new products, services, and other developments to existing and potential accounts.Establish and maintain multiple levels of relationships within each customer in order to identify needs and opportunities as well as to provide selling solutions. Manage a network of Food Ingredient Brokers. Provide resale support to customers through advertising, promotion, and other trade spending activities while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.Interface with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, Production, and R&D functions.Consult with management and provide timely information and reports on regional activities, issues, trends, market changes, competitive developments, and other critical matters.
The ideal candidate will be creative, aggressive, customer driven, and results oriented as well as possess demonstrated ability to manage, build, and enhance the overall value of the Food Ingredients business. 5 years of combined experience in food ingredients sales and broker management is required. Recent or previous experience in the specialty food ingredients business is highly desirable. Broad based business knowledge, strategic thinking, good judgment, and accurate risk assessment skills are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to negotiate agreements are essential. Must portray an image of professionalism, honesty, trust, and commitment to customer satisfaction. BA/BS Degree is preferred. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
