Refrigeration Technician

Dole markets a growing line of packaged foods and frozen fruit and is a produce industry leader in nutrition and research. Must be able to operate a two-stage ammonia system. Be a self-starter and report any unusual operating conditions promptly to supervisor.Must be able to safely operate, maintain and evaluate performance checks of equipment such as Evaporative Condensers, Cooling Towers and high horsepower engine room equipment.Insure that chemical treatment is applied correctly to cooling towers and boiler feed water.Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance as necessary on all refrigeration systems. This includes rebuilding of compressors, valves, pumps and various other mechanical devices.Monitor and maintain pneumatic and steam generating equipment.Test and document chemical usage in all steam generating equipment.Follow company policies.Follow safety procedures.Other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions of the job. Must demonstrate safe handling and control of acutely hazardous materials used in refrigeration.Must be of the highest mental and physical caliber at all times to insure safe performance of job.Must pass breathing requirements of OSHA and be able to enter and function in encapsulated suits. Level 'A'RETA certification preferredRefrigeration and Engineers must certify that individual has basic refrigeration knowledge within one year of employment.Must have Two years Technician Level.Must be able to use hand tools normally expected of refrigeration technicians.Requires knowledge and ability to service and repair both Ammonia and Freon systems.
