Quality Team Leader - Meat Procurement Quality Assurance

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

This position is located in the San Antonio Retail Support Center in the PDC Meat Procurement for H-E-B  and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position is responsible for the day to day operations in the Meat Department interacting with vendors, direct communication with Business Development Managers and Procurement management, and responsible for the supervision of the Quality Assurance inspection team. The incumbent will utilize best quality practices in regards to food safety, inspection, sanitation, and environmental regulatory compliance.

Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Food Science, Animal Science or related field, or a minimum of 2-5 years of related work experience in a retail meat or food manufacturing environmentFundamental working knowledge and compliance: Industry, EEOC, and Employment LawsMulti-tasking skills, attention to detail, ability to lift up to 100 lbs. (as necessary), stand for long periods of time requiredStrong written, verbal and presentation skillsPrevious experience in analyzing and influencing people with regards to processes improvements and modifications (an asset)Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an intermediate levelKnowledge of statistical and QA softwareAttendance and completion of company sponsored training and developmental classesAbility to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends and holidays with some travel required Ability to work in hot or cold environment and in freezing temperatures at 0 to 34 degreesPartners selected to interview for the position must successfully demonstrate the critical success factors outlined for the position ( i.e. leadership, motivation, interpersonal skills, etc.) during the interviews
