(a National Beverage company) is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to work at the Detroit, MI location. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the quality programs and functions. These include maintaining all HACCP, food safety records, plant audits, mock recall programs and training the plant on these issues and procedures. The QA Manager will work with the R&D Team on new product launches. The position will report directly to the Plant Manager. This position’s duties include the following: Oversee and direct the efforts of the Faygo HACCP plan, including GMP auditing and corrective action plan development. Investigate, report, and formulate corrective action plans on plant Specific consumer complaints. Manages and directs the quality assurance activities for the plant, to include syrup preparation and distribution, microbiology, sanitation, finished product analysis, package integrity testing, HACCP/GMP, and process control Manage plant audits for housekeeping programs and coordinate improvement activities with other managers. Manage the maintenance of microbiological monitoring programs and direct sanitation programs. Assist supervisors in resolving Quality Control issues, track quality trends, recommend and implement plans to improve quality and production efficiency. Maintain all relevant paperwork and budgetary demands. Direct quality work procedures to meet production schedules. Provide quality improvement education to the workforce through regular team meetings. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related science discipline. Must be available to work flexible hours. Three or more years of supervisory experience in a multi-shift operation.
