QA Manager JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing Quality Assurance at the regional level above approximately ten facilities. This position must ensure that the Company produces safe products of the highest and most consistent quality by overseeing various Silk, HOD, LOL and ID production. This position will aid in the assessment of operations and creation and implementation of corporate QA policies and programs at the plant and corporate levels.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:? Implement and ensure conformance to QA programs to prevent food quality or food safety issues at manufacturing facilities (company owned and / or contract manufacturing locations) and off site storage facilities.? Develop and maintain a specific QA/QC manual for each plant in the assigned region.? Develop and document a complete QACCP plan for each producer in the assigned region? Develop and document a complete HACCP plan for each producer in the assigned region.? Troubleshoot problems associated with WhiteWave production in approximately ten facilities; ensure root cause / corrective actions are appropriate and are fully implemented.? Install appropriate controls, sample plans, hold/release system modifications, code rotation, batching and processing controls, and other production systems where problems might exist.? Develop a rapport with QA managers of all WWFC-owned and co-pack facilities.? Assure that all plants are audit- and inspection- ready at all times.? Manage the corrective actions as necessary to improve quality and consistency at the plant level.? Develop and manage sampling plans to monitor finished product quality, compositional results to ensure standards of identity are maintained.? Provide support for quality and process improvement initiatives.? Responsible for off-site QA audits and troubleshooting to include organizing, prioritizing and completing audit items; reviewing QA results and communicate results to associated WhiteWave personnel? Coordinate QA efforts with R&D and plants involving new product launches, trials, and installations? Work with R&D to ensure that manufacturing and raw material specifications exist and are current and enforced. ? Stay current with all key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines. Manage regulatory issues within assigned region? Education and Experience:Degree: Minimum of BS in Science / Food Science / Technical Discipline? Prefer 8 years previous Quality Assurance experience in food/beverage manufacturing environments with emphasis on ESL, Aseptic, and/or Dairy equipment. Preferably all? Multiple (remote) plant responsibility experience ? Understanding of plant production systems, GMP, sanitation, plant safety, quality systems, kosher and organic regulations.? Minimum level of responsibility as Quality Assurance Manager for a food manufacturing facilityB. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ? Must be a leader, able to motivate others, able to recognize areas of need across the company and tackle projects independently? Must possess superior spreadsheet, word processing and database computer skills? Must be able to travel ? Must have excellent communication / presentation skills? Excellent record keeping / documentation skills
