Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Core Tester leads teams of testers and provides hands-on testing of LeapFrog title development. The Core Tester is responsible for working intimately with the product development team on a daily basis, providing assist testing and build feedback. They are also responsible for the project bugbase and bugbase maintenance. The Core Tester leads the QA team’s daily testing approach to ensure Leapfrog Quality standards are met for their assigned projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
Early involvement with producers and engineering teams during the development of the title.
Design Doc reviews with a view towards the QA process. Identify needed cheats, areas of excessive scope, overall design flow gaps, etc.
Attend code review meetings with engineering team.
Attend weekly cross-functional team production meetings.
Create test plans, write and execute test cases, and create milestone checklists.
Manage the project bugbase; report trends and product performance issues.
Lead cross functional team bugscrubs throughout product lifecycle.
Work closely with engineers during milestone cycles to assist their programming efforts to achieve milestones.
Ability to run and read debug output
Assist the QA Lead in managing resources, both internal and external.
Assist in managing the project to schedule and budget.
Assist in training new testers.
Assist in maintaining current testing documentation.
Archive all related LBK’s, BIN’s, documentation, and bugbases.
Testing will comprise approximately 50%-75% of the time.

Job Qualifications
2 - 3 years in Software Quality Assurance (S.Q.A) in a grey-box testing environment.
Familiarity with programming languages: C, C++
Experience in testing projects utilizing FLASH
Familiarity with debugging tools
Experience with Issue Tracking Software; familiarity with TestTrack Pro a plus
Experience in working with external QA teams highly desirable
Skilled in bug writing, editing, and managing a database.
Ability to script test scenarios
Ability to read and interpret flow charts and design documentation
Knowledge of software game development preferred
Strong written. and oral communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
Excellent trouble-shooting skills
Bi-lingual in one of the following languages a plus, but not required: Spanish, French, German.

Education & Training:
Bachelors Degree preferred or commensurate with experience.
