Purchasing Supervisor – Food Manufacturer - Benicia, CA (35 miles NE of San Francisco)

 

Valley Fine Foods is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Supervisor.  We are a growing consumer food manufacturer seeking qualified candidates with strong negotiating, analytical, budgetary, technical, and organizational skills.  The Purchasing Supervisor will report directly to our Plant Manager.

Job Description

Qualifications:2+ years experience making purchasing decisionsBA or BS in related fieldFood ingredient purchasing experience a plusPurchasing experience in the private sector
Experience in forecastingStrong Excel and analytical skillsOutstanding organizational skills, with a strong attention to detailAbility to prioritize projects accordingly and multi-tasking a mustSupervisory experience

 

Responsibilities:Manage ingredient and packaging purchasing for multiple plantsInventory management and controlNegotiate contracts and monitor price for all ingredients and packaging materialsCost analysis and improvement programsPurchase parts and machines from domestic and international suppliersSupplier qualification and evaluationMinimize waste and inventoryInterplant transfersSupervise one purchasing assistant
