Property Tax Accountant

In addition to sales offices in North America, the company has a sales presence in Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Belgium to serve global customers.Assist in strategy development and negotiations for annual real estate and personal property valuations. Track all Flint Hills Resources locations and file appropriate personal property tax returns. Respond to data requests from taxing authorities. Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts related to property taxes including accruals and payments. All property tax payments are required to be made on a timely basis. Manage and be responsible for outsourcing arrangement with internal/external providers as it relates to the property tax process including compliance, accounting, payments, etc. Support various Flint Hils Resources departments (legal, real estate, accounting, business development etc.) on all issues surrounding property tax. This includes property acquisitions and disposals, real estate database information, due diligence support, etc. One staff accountant will report to this position. All related administrative functions will be required including leadership and people development. Identify strategies to add value to Flint Hills Resources through value negotiation, business decision support, process efficiences, or other means. (EOE M/F/D/V) Experienced Required Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to grasp complex issues; Attention to detail; Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access;  2-4 years of accounting experience. Experience Preferred Experience in Oil and Gas industry;  Real estate or asset accounting experience;  Demonstrated technical proficiency in spreadsheets and databases (Excel, Access) and accounting systems (Oracle, Hyperion).
