Product Safety Testing Engineer / Compliance Engineer

Senior Product Safety Engineer

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

· Act as Product Safety Certifier for TÜV SÜD America; inspect, test, and photograph products for conformity assessment with international regulations, with the end result being the certificate of conformance for the client.

· Prepare reports and documentation for certification of customer products to the appropriate standards. Generate revenue by billing engineering time to our clients, usually on a project basis, for Constructional Review, Testing, Preliminary Evaluations and Certifications activities.

· Correspond, orally, and in writing, with Product Safety Agencies such as UL, CSA and VDE with respect to Product Design Approaches for Safety.

· Sell Product Safety engineering services through telephone consulting, customer education, and giving seminars on Product Safety.

· Acquires new business and supports existing business for all services related to industrial machinery

· Perform Factory Inspections and field evaluation services to NFPA, UL, ANSI and CSA requirements


Requirements include, but are not limited to:

 

· A BS in Electrical Engineering is required, or equivalent.

· A minimum of 5 years Product Safety experience is preferred. Ideally having tested in accordance to NFPA 79, NFPA 70, SPE 1000, SEMI 52 and other machinery directives.

· Good contacts within the machinery industry, especially semiconductor related, preferred

· Knowledge of European directives and standards

· Knowledge of SEMI guidelines and U.S. safety requirements

· Knowledge of Windows, MS Office and electronic mail necessary. 2-4 years experience in materials technology or within equipment manufacturing industries.
