Product Developer / Merchandiser

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As our Product Developer/Merchandiser: you’ll be a principle point person for one or several retailers within our private label brand team.  You will report to Senior VP of Merchandising and will be responsible for communicating daily with our distributors and sales team on current and future strategies for product designs and line direction.

Your main focus will be on initiating and implementing strategic product lines and strategic roll outs (SRO’s) that synchronize with the retailer’s unique private label requirements, while meeting our company’s goals.  You will work with our domestic and overseas design and development teams from line conceptualization all the way through to product confirmation. You will be responsible for making seasonal presentations on trends and have ongoing interaction with the retailer’s product development team.

You will be responsible for knowing market trends and how they apply within your retailer’s private labels brands.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Retail Merchandising or a related field

· 1 to 2 years experience working in product development

· Previous brand or line management helpful

· Must have strong analytical skills, understand trends and know how to combine the two to create saleable product lines

· Must be able to multi-task and give direction in a team environment

· Effective presentation, interpersonal and communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to conceive/create new ideas and thinking outside the box on both product and process

· Must be able to use Excel, Power Point and other design and development software

· Domestic and international travel required - Valid passport needed

· Bilingual in Spanish preferred
