Plant Maintenance Manager Position Summary:This position is responsible for maintaining facilities as well as all production equipment to ensure production activity and product quality can continuously be adhered to with minimal downtime, regular production start ups and consistent product quality on a daily basis.Essential Job Duties:Creates and updates the preventive maintenance program for the facility and all equipment, assigns responsibility to appropriate staff, and keeps daily maintenance checklists on all equipmentPlans for and coordinates the installation of new equipment and the removal or movement of current equipment; finds contractors as needed, reviews the contracts and monitors and approves contractors workResponsible for developing and monitoring the maintenance repair and capital improvement budgetsKeeps equipment maintained and functioning to meet all production and quality requirements, to include reducing downtime, increasing output, and reducing energy costsCollaborate with the Production team and key employees to effectively plan for scheduled and unscheduled events to maximize time for rebuilds, repairs and preventative maintenanceConsistently participate and follow the Plant?s Manufacturing Operating System, attend and contribute to daily and weekly meetings on a regular basis. Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives Effectively utilize enterprise planning tools to manage the department and maintenance activities Effectively lead the maintenance staff by coaching, development, communication, change management, delegating duties, and holding staff accountable. Create a team oriented environment which motivates staff and keeps employees engaged in their jobs, the Plant and the companyProvide emergency response for maintenance related issues for a 24 hour, 7 days a week operationOther duties as assignedSupervisory Duties: Maintenance Mechanics, Maintenance Leads, MP2 Coordinator Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong math skillsSchematic and blueprint reading abilityAbility to prioritize a heavy work scheduleCapability to develop and implement work orders, equipment installations and projectsExcellent supervisory skillsGood computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and WordProgrammable Logic Controller (PLC) programming experience (Allen Bradley preferred)Soldering, electrical, and plumbing abilityHVAC knowledgeMechanical pneumatics knowledgeHigh Pressure Boiler systems experienceRefrigeration systems knowledgeStrong troubleshooting capabilitiesWelding mig and tig and stick abilityKnowledge of equipment calibrations and equipment installationsEducation: Technical Degree, Degree in Engineering preferred2 years Electrical Tech, NDSSSExperience: 10+ years as a line/project mechanic with general maintenance skills4+ years Maintenance Management experience or 2 years at the plant manager level
