Essential Functions

· Designs containers for products

· Confers with representatives of engineering, marketing, management, and other departments to determine packaging requirements and type of product market

· Sketches design of container for specific product, considering factors, such as convenience in handling and storing, distinctiveness for identification by consumer, and simplicity to minimize production costs

· Renders design, including exterior markings and labels, using paints and brushes

· Typically fabricates model in paper, wood, glass, plastic, or metal, depending on material to be used in package

· Prepare package mock-ups for toy fairs and sales meetings

· Makes changes or modifications required by approving authority

· Works with licensing to design product that meets their approval

· Works with product launch to design products tat meet company margin goals

Qualifications At least 5 years of design/production experience with an emphasis on packaging and branding Outstanding design portfolio; strong graphic design skills Expert knowledge of design software including Adobe Creative Suite using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word and email. Must be familiar with the Macintosh OSX environment Must be extremely familiar with the use of dielines, Pantone color, and CMYK color processes Team player – excellent communication and interpersonal skills Very positive attitude, self-motivated, and fun to work with Effectively interact with internal and external resources Exhibit creative flair within guidelines of styleguides and/or printer specs Able to interpret and implement feedback from internal rounds of review Highly organized, with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
-Must be able to meet deadlines and commitments
-Ability to prioritize and focus on projects Web experience, familiarity of HTML and Flash a plus International packaging experience a plus
