PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

I. Position Summary
To provide on a daily basis, strong supervision, direction and leadership to the production work force,
consistent with the Company goals of producing quality products while maximizing productivity, safety
and employee morale. To safeguard all product, property and equipment of the Company.

II. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)
1. Maintain compliance with all safety rules and regulations and assist in training and implementation of safety programs and plant security programs.
2. Ensure that finished products are manufactured in an efficient and uniformly consistent manner.
3. Maintain compliance with all Quality, Sanitation and Production procedures.
4. Directly supervise each employee assigned to area of responsibility. Provide input into performance reviews, makes recommendation regarding employee disciplinary action.
5. In conjunction with Production Manager ensure policies and rules are followed.
6. Minimize waste through training, supervision and efficient planning and utilization of equipment.
7. Work with all departments to support changes in corporate structure.

4. Can multi-task process and packaging responsibilities.
5. Will be faced with multi-department accountability, including maintenance, production, shipping and sanitation as all are intertwined on off-shifts.
6. Mentoring, coaching style of supervision applied to obtain maximum teaching effectiveness within a diverse work force.

IV. Scope
Facility produces 230 MM+ pounds of margarine, spreads, and butter and employs approximately 160 employees.
Direct production of 107 SKUs of margarines, spreads and related products according to a pre-defined schedule.
Supervise up to 50 hourly employees.
Communicate as necessary with all levels of plant personnel. Other than direct reports, regular communication is typically made with the Production Manager, and Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse, Scheduling, Human Resources and Accounting departments.

V. Skills & Competencies

Knowledge
Education B.S. in Technical area (Food Science, Engineering or related Science)
Experience 1-2 years manufacturing experience, preferably in Food Manufacturing.

Skills:
Basic appreciation of driving production performance and improvement
Basic appreciation of product, process and packaging expertise
Basic appreciation of warehousing and distribution management
