New Products Project Manager New  Position September 2008

Reports to: VP of Operations

 

Kozy Shack Enterprises, a leading dairy dessert manufacturer and distributor located in Hicksville, NY has an excellent opportunity for a New Products Project Manager. 

 

Function:

  Leads new product project teams by coordinating all necessary activities to insure new products are kept on their introduction or launch schedule by effectively managing the formal project timeline. Person would work with Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Quality Control and Manufacturing personnel at the appropriate times to insure commercialization requirements are completed. Activities may include co-manufacturers for new products. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Developing project specific timeline as derived from Kozy Shack New Products Launch timeline.  Project timeline key responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Ensuring that ingredient and material requirements are reviewed between R&D, Supply chain and Manufacturing.

· Assisting in the review of packaging requirements with Marketing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

· Tracking packaging structure and packaging graphics progress to guarantee timely delivery.

· Coordinating processing trials with R&D, Marketing and Manufacturing to keep commercialization activities on track.

· Arranging, monitoring and analyzing ship tests with appropriate internal partners.

· Facilitating Sales Samples, First Ship and 30-60-90 day forecasts by customer and by manufacturing location.

· Working with Marketing and Finance to insure product P&L, PIF’s, manufacturing kits, labor standards, SOP’s and etc are completed timely for business decisions.

· Confers with Manufacturing, Plant Operators, Engineering, Quality Control, Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain specialists in order to resolve problems and keep project time line on track.   

·  Scheduling team meetings and update management as necessary.

 

Job knowledge and Experience:Good analytical skills and initiative. Able to set priorities and keep tasks on track.Well developed verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills demonstrated through successful project team leadership.Ability to organize and effectively administer multiple tasks simultaneously.Project management skills with 3-5 years yrs production work experience or marketing product management.Strong understanding of new product development from lab to market required. Expertise in Microsoft Project or other project management software a plus. Demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills to meet varied challenges and opportunities.

Education:

  Candidate should have a 4 yr degree or Masters in Business management, Industrial management, and marketing or like business related discipline.
