Nestle HealthCare Nutrition This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for supporting a 24 hour, seven day a week manufacturing operation; manages staff; achieves operational objectives; develops strategic manufacturing operational plan; improves cost effectiveness; manages facility capital improvement projects; provides maintenance services to operations and maintains a safe and healthy work environment.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:This position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of Plant Engineering and Maintenance functions as to promote efficiency and cost control.Responsible for maintaining all plant processing equipment in proper running order; meeting all governmentally mandated criteria necessary to continue plant operations.Manage all plant maintenance programs which includes the preventive and predictive maintenance program.Ensures manufacturing capacity and uptime of equipment is able to meet customer expectations in terms of quality and volume.Manage plant capital projects from conceptual phases through project close-out, involving processing/packaging system development, equipment design and selection, scale-up, installation and start-up. Establishes organization-wide standards and best practices including developing policies, standard operating procedures, and work flows.Supports sanitation, safety, quality, and cost savings initiatives, redesign/upgrades, and production efficiency.Guide the strategic development of talent in the organization ensuring development of effective succession plans for the organization, performance management practices, and that each individual has a meaningful development plan.Verify and control outside engineering when used in conjunction with internal work projects.Maintain professional relationships with coworkers.Performs other duties as assigned.SAFETY COMPLIANCE: Wear appropriate PPE when in processing areas Correct safety hazards and unsafe work behaviors Comply with required safety procedures Participate in safety trainingGMP/QUALITY COMPLIANCE: Follow all Company GMP Standards QUALIFICATIONS:Education: BS in Engineering or other applied science. Masters Degree in Engineering or MBA preferredExperience: A minimum of 10 years engineering experience in a related industry.Must have previous Operational experience in another large manufacturing company with a minimum of 5 years experience in a plant management role.A demonstrated track record of leading capital projects and returning expectation financial resultsStrong Management Skills. Thorough understanding of food science and how food is affected through processing.Understanding of food safety, sanitary design, and equipment cleaning.Knowledgeable of both plant and manufacturing scale productionWorking knowledge of regulatory and USDA requirements.Knowledge, Skills and Mental/Cognitive AbilitiesProven interpersonal skills (demonstrated ability to work through and with others).Strong communication and presentation skills throughout all levels of an organization and in a variety of work cultures.Physical Requirements:Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.Work in an office and manufacturing environment.
