Essential Functions:





The Mechanical Design Engineer will work in a fast paced, continually expanding R+D group responsible for the design and development of hand tools and other products in the consumer DIY market. The selected candidate will work with a team of highly motivated engineers and technicians throughout the entire R+D process of the company’s product line, as well as assist in design activities within the consulting side of the business.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

· Bachelor's degree (BSME) from accredited four-year

college / university or equivalent.

· Minimum of 5 years of hands-on design experience.

· Familiarity with manufacturing processes like: Injection

molded plastic parts, formed and stamped

parts, and dies casting.

· Electro-mechanical integration of PCBA in assemblies.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving and

communicationskills.

· Demonstrate multidiscipline team environment

experiences, quality,purchasing and operations groups.

· Possess experiences in development of high and low

volume production products and implementation of

product design in offshore manufacturing environment.

 

Desirable Technical Experiences:

 

· Visual communication skills (i.e. Sketching, quick models,

etc.)

· Sensitivity to Industrial design issues

· Experience in rapid prototyping techniques and

processes

· 3D CAD, 2D engineering documentation using GD&T per

ANSI

Standards

· Tolerance analysis, beam calculations and stress analysis

· Thermal analysis

· Ability to troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues

· Knowledge of shop and manufacturing equipments

· Positive attitude, high personal initiative, work without

close supervision, team work, participate/lead

development efforts
