Maintenance Manager (Lake Alfred, FL)

We offer a broad array of branded and private label products and service customers in the Retail, Foodservice, and Food Ingredients trade classes from multiple production facilities located throughout the United States. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Lake Alfred (FL) plant, which has bottling and bulk manufacturing processes. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing a department of 3 Maintenance Technicians and reports to the Plant Manager.
Major responsibilities are as follows:
· Schedule maintenance workload working with the Maintenance Planner, and based on the production schedule, staffing, skills set, and scheduled vs. unscheduled work.
· Consult with departments involved in production schedules to generate department schedule based on team meeting and Maintenance Planner requirements.
· Meet with Sanitation and refine schedules to maximize departmental outputs.
· Schedule contractor work for non-capital project work.
· Maintain records of completed maintenance.
· Meet daily with the Team Leaders to continuously improve the department’s service level. Discuss planned work with the Team Leaders and work closely with them to set up work.
· Manage, mentor, and motivate direct reports, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth. Communicates performance standards and expectations to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.
· Coordinate and monitor Total Productive Maintenance Program:
1. Do daily root-cause analysis of mechanical downtime and effectively change PM’s to reduce mechanical downtime.
2. Utilize the following metric reports to manage PM’s and scheduling.
* Breakdown as a Percentage of Total Work.
* Percentage of PM Completion for the week.
* PM Hours as a Percentage of Total Work.
* Percentage of PM’s Audited.
3. Annually review all PM’s for improvement (do more often if downtime frequency indicates the need). Review equipment downtime history, emergency work orders, corrective work orders, maintenance, sanitation, and operators’ knowledge and input.
4. Assure PM audits are being done.
5. Implement Static and Running PM’s.
· Train subordinates as needed in CMMS functionality.
· Write CMMS procedures for scheduler interactivity with system.
· Provide Plant Manager with the necessary reports, metric measurements, progress of work orders, planned work, repetitive problems and anything necessary to manage the facility.
· Discuss and coordinate major maintenance and capital projects with Project Engineer.
· Fill in for Maintenance Planner as necessary.
· Ensure that plant facilities and grounds are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, company and regulatory standards and fiscal consideration.
· Manage wastewater process and deal with regulatory agencies as needed.
· Estimate costs of personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
· Develop and monitor formal control programs to track and control repair costs and spare parts inventories.
· Assists in preparing major equipment bids, recommending purchase when replacement or new equipment is required. Represents the company's position and interest in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
· Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety.
· Assists in annual budget preparation as it relates to safety and maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
· Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies and systems and engineering concepts to continually improve plant performance.
· Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Mizkan Americas business objectives.
The successful candidate will have 10 or more years of related maintenance experience within the food, bottling, liquid filling, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, chemical, or consumer packaged goods industries with at least 5 years of experience at the management level. Experience with bottling, blending, or packaging equipment is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is desirable. Experience in combination with education will be given consideration. Strong mechanical ability and a working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems are required. Computer literacy is essential. Must have a strong floor presence and be able to interact effectively with people at all levels.
