Linux Administrator

The Linux Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, documenting, implementing and supporting Linux and Unix servers for production, test, and development environments, including management and maintenance of our storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities include operational server support including hands-on hardware maintenance, change management and capacity planning, as well as troubleshooting a variety of support issues. In addition, technical consulting and strategic planning with peers, management, and customers will be required. Duties also include implementation efforts for process improvement, scripting, task automation, tuning, system monitoring, patch management, file system management, and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years relevant Linux administration and troubleshooting experience, preferably in SUSE Linux environment with at least 2-3 years Linux server management experience.

This position requires in-depth knowledge and working experience with  Linux, storage arrays, and fiber channel SAN switches. Familiarity with SAP a plus.

Solid EMC Storage and SAN administration skills are required.

Experience automating tasks using a scripting language (ksh, perl, etc.) is necessary.

Strong familiarity with tape backup methodologies and procedures.
