Laboratory Information System Administrator

In addition to sales offices in North America, the company has a sales presence in Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Belgium to serve global customers.· Provide expertise and service for Lab Information Management System (LIMS)· Responsible for coordinating with Business Cross Site Functional owner to prioritize    business needs· Interface with site IT group for system maintenance, upgrades, and new applications· Manage LIMS system for test profiles, schedules, sample point designation· Interact with Laboratory data users and customers to understand requirements; develop plans to address needs· Apply current technology to improve Laboratory information efficiency, such as    barcoding and RFID· Serve as liaison between Laboratory personnel and IT for hardware and software   applications and needs· Manage LIMS change requests· Resolve day-to-day problems and issues related with Laboratory data management· Stay abreast of and recommend technologies to improve overall Laboratory efficiency &  productivity· Establish and maintain communications with LIMS and other software vendors, attend   users conferenceWork Experience & Skills Required:· Minimum 3 years experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems in a   Refining, Petrochemicals, or Chemicals industry laboratory or IT support group · Experience in software applications to improve laboratory information efficiency · Ability  to troubleshoot and recommend laboratory data related hardware · Demonstrated experience in laboratory barcoding or related technologies · Experience in and ability to troubleshoot laboratory chromatography data system· Experience in interfacing with other departments and internal customers Must possess   excellent written and verbal communication skills Education Required:Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in laboratory related science Work Experience & Skills Preferred:5 years laboratory and LIMS experience in a petrochemical laboratory Education Preferred:BS/BA ChemistryPhysical demands or unusual working conditions:Available nights and weekends for problems Compensation/Benefits Competitive wages and benefits packages commensurate with experience.
