International Logistics Coordinator

Responsible for air, ground and ocean import operations.Relocation is not available for this position.Location: New York (Melville, Long Island)•Monitors and fosters the clearance of each import shipment moving through the Hain supply chain. •Responsible for the collection of all required import documents and maintenance of the import recordkeeping system. •Develops policies and procedures in conjunction with the Sr.Transportation Manager to automate and standardize the import operations for each Hain company. •Maintains a tracking system accessible to all necessary personnel involved in import operations. •Responsible for the selection and management of customs brokers and freight forwarders. •Negotiates and contracts with freight forwarders or directly with the steamship lines to negotiate the best available freight rates.Essential Functions: 1. Manage Ocean,air and ground Imports. 2. Obtain Freight Rates for international imports. 3. Provides costing in conjunction with the Sr. Transportation Manager to provide landed costing models for sales and operations. 4. Reviews documents of inbound shipments to ensure that entries are made in a correct and timely manner. 5. Retains documents for each imported shipment, either in hard copy or in electronic form that satisfies the CPB recordkeeping requirements. 6. Monitors inbound import shipments for delays that may affect production or sales fulfillment. 7. Monitors and manages the customs broker relationship; responsible for carrier/service provider selection with criteria set by the Sr. Transportion Manager 8. Audits document packets for completeness. 9. Approves and audits freight bills for imported merchandise. 10. Develop monthly reconciliation/accrual for imported freight on a monthly basis to capture costs in the correct month. 11. Advise supply chain when purchase orders are late due to shipping delays, holds, inspections, etc. 12. Assist business unit managers with rate quotes, duty rates and preferred terms of sale by vendor. 13. Keeps current on changing trade regulations and assists with import procedure training. 14. Assists Director of transportation with documentation and research for petitions, protests, drawbacks or other inquiries Hain may make to customs. 15. Monitor each shipment and ensures that prior notification to ePB as well as OGA’s as required is satisfied. 19. Analyzes performance data for freight forwarders, brokers and steamship lines.
