The Functional Support Analyst is responsible for applying knowledge of the commodity trading business, combined with an understanding of the business roles applied in the organization to solve problems and execute projects. In addition, the Functional Support Analyst will possess an understanding of how various applications, interfaces, supplemental tools, and processes function and relate to each other. The Functional Support Analyst will be asked to analyze and resolve issues, as well as work with application users to ensure that applications and processes are being utilized as effectively as possible.This position is ideal for someone who possesses advanced analytical and problem solving skills, is detail-oriented, and has experience working with commodity trading business processes. Candidates must have a passion for learning, and be adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Ideal candidates are capable of identifying and implementing system process improvements, as well as prioritizing time effectively, in a dynamically changing work environment. In addition to providing application support for business users, the Functional Support Analyst will work with software developers to fix defects, and make minor enhancements to applications. Opportunities will also be available to participate on project teams for larger projects. The applicant should possess effective facilitation skills and possess an ability to manage small projects. Additional tasks may include gathering project requirements, writing specifications, providing quality assurance, and training users.
