MAJOR FUNCTION Conducts criminal investigations as required; assesses security measures at L Oral facilities; administers loss prevention program for retail stores; and fosters liaison with law enforcement.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES1. Conducts security assessments of L'Oral facilities and those of our principal trucking and warehousing vendors, especially those handling finished product, and sets requirements for enhanced protection measures, both technical and protocol, when appropriate.2. Conducts investigations of thefts and other incidents of criminality and serves as a first-responder to alarms at company premises after normal business hours, on weekends and holidays, in coordination with on-duty guards, and, in an actual emergency, with police responders. 3. Administers loss prevention program concerning 97 DF&C, Kiehls, Shu Uemura, Biotherm, Lancme and L Oreal Paris retail stores regarding technical security systems, criminal activity at store premises, and of employee misconduct pertaining to gray market diversion.4. Serves as Security representative to C-TPAT (U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism); frequently conducting requested government inquiries in order to maintain our certified standing permitting L Oreal USA expeditious border clearances of incoming international product shipments.5. Conducts due diligence exercises, including routine bag searches, at manufacturing and distribution facilities to ensure employee compliance with standards of ethics.6. Fosters and maintains routine liaison with area police and with federal and state law enforcement authorities to help ensure prompt attention to the needs of L Oreal when the company is victimized by attempted or actual criminal activity.7. Position involves coordination of security matters affecting 23 New Jersey manufacturing, distribution and warehouse facilities; and liaison with designated Security personnel in four other states, and in Puerto Rico and Canada. EXPERIENCE & TRAININGBachelor's degree. Five years' on-the-job law enforcement experience, preferably including supervisory training, and proven proficiency in addressing matters affecting the private corporate sector.
