Every location offers an environment that values each of its employees! JOB DESCRIPTION: The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the accomplishment of plant Human Resources services for a manufacturing plant and support resources. The position focuses on all day-to-day Human Resource and Employee Relations initiatives and activities and compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations and the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreements. Job duties include: Manages employment activities and implements proper procedures to ensure that qualified candidates are recruited and hired. Maintains all AAP/EEO documentation dealing with the employment process. Maintain and administer Labor Agreements on day-today basis. Coordinates nonexempt recruiting, hourly recruiting and internal bidding. Supervises the use of temporary employment agencies. Maintain and assure proper implementation of plant work rules. Administer plant-wide job bid system. Administer attendance program including Short Week, Reduced Staffing, and other scheduling Conducts grievance investigations and represents the Company at Step 2 of the grievance procedure. Formulates company responses. Participates in grievance mediations, arbitrations, contract negotiations, and labor related activities beyond the grievance procedure. Conducts wage and benefit surveys for labor negotiation strategy development. Supervise HR Coordinators. Supports and serves as a back-up to Human Resources Manager. Supports and serves as a back-up to HSE Manager in areas of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues. Plans, coordinates, and implements employee activities. Reports to the Human Resources Manager and supports a manufacturing plant with 300+ employees.JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business with concentration in Human Resources. Five years experience as Human Resources generalist. Manufacturing environment and union experience is required.
