Director of Search Marketing

Teleflora, the world’s largest privately held floral wire service, technology and products company, is seeking a seasoned Director of Search Marketing to help grow Teleflora.com, one of the leading ecommerce sites for Flowers in the US. 


This is a high profile opportunity to play a leadership role in a major, industry leading company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading consumer search marketing programs in a competitive category, with a demonstrated track record of driving change, setting strategies and superior execution that have had material impact on the bottom line. The candidate will also have deep technical experience in driving organic search (SEO) traffic from all major search engines. Working with both internal and external stakeholders to foster continual improvement and innovation, the Director of Search Marketing is the definitive expert within Teleflora.com on all matters relating to Search Marketing. This is a hands-on role; one that blends the strategic with the day-to-day management.

To succeed in this role requires a combination of technical and marketing savvy, which enables him/her to scope the landscape, define a vision & strategy, win acceptance of that strategy, and execute against the approved plan. This requires a combination of entrepreneurship and business savvy.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

· Set and champion SEO strategy for Teleflora.com including developing a roadmap of best practices defining common product & technical requirements for all platform-related initiatives setting milestones & delivering financial results for centralized projects evangelizing SEO with key internal and external stakeholders

· Full P&L responsibility for organic search channel setting objectives & strategies to exceed sales and profitability targets

· Develop robust analytics capabilities to support SEO goals  in cooperation with the Director of Web Analytics and Reporting

· Drive innovation to keep Teleflora.com at the forefront of Search Engine practices, technology and structure

· Collaborate with vendors and partners both internally and externally including

o  Web Development

o  Product Management and Web Production

o  Interactive Design agency

o  Public Relations

· Identify & manage network of agency/vendor relationships (including contract negotiations)

· Facilitate collaboration with other Roll International search teams to develop coordinated strategies, as appropriate

 

Job Requirements:

 

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

· Excellent verbal, and written communication & presentation skills

· Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to leverage data to drive strategy and decision making

· Experience with technical aspects of search engines

· Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving

· Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities

· Self-starter approach, with ability to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility as time permits

· 7+ years of B2C online experience, marketing & search engine marketing experience preferred

· Experience with budget management and forecasting

· Demonstrated negotiation skills

· A BA/BS or equivalent 4-year degree; MBA preferred

· Some travel required
