Project:

Schonbek is currently seeking a Director of Manufacturing to oversee the management of all production activities for chandelier manufacturing, ensuring production goals are achieved at maximum efficiency and quality with the given standards and price point. 

 

Responsibilities:

· Oversees the manufacturing process, including basic production, assembly and finishing operations.

· Ensures the most effective work processes are used, ensuring the efficient workflow, operation of the division and production of high quality chandeliers.

· Coordinates activities between departments to optimize staff utilization and capacities.

· Oversees planning and expediting of orders to meet shipment dates.

· Troubleshoots manufacturing problems, equipment failures, and processes.

· Orchestrates physical inventories by reviewing finished goods inventory in relation to production orders.

· Monitors production goals and deadlines to meet marketing, sales, and distribution requirements.

· Working closely with the management Staff and Engineering group, support and take on the leadership role in manufacturing related to Lean Mfg. initiatives

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manages the function and allocates resources to ensure that objectives are met - within company mission, department mission, and procedures/guidelines.

· Ensures that the departments are properly staffed with individuals who have the necessary training and tools.  Participates in making employment decisions, including employment, discipline, training, assignments, and termination.

· Operates the department within the Company’s philosophy, culture and mission.

· Ensures that all applicable legal requirements are met.

· Evaluates functional operations on an ongoing basis and initiates action to enhance productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.

· Develops an annual budget and operates within budgetary guidelines.

Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university with a focus in engineering or technical field, or equivalent. Ten to fifteen years of management experience in related industry (manufactured goods) is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
