Director of Food Product Management

The Director of Food Product Management will help NutriSystem to achieve its revenue and profit targets for new and existing product lines. This individual will oversee the life cycle and modifications of existing products as well as the development of profitable line extensions. The Director will assess and determine product feasibility and improvements from a financial, operational and marketing perspective. This hands on position will manage multiple projects concurrently within established timelines and budget forecasts. The ideal candidate is a creative, strategic, and results-oriented leader with a proven track record in consumer packaged goods marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or management.

Identify customer needs and leverage market trends for product modifications
Create and manage a marketing plan for a portfolio of products, including definition, positioning, packaging strategy, and targeted consumer promotions
Perform product life-cycle analysis to recommend product improvements and identify poorly performing products
Identify and communicate emerging food, health and diet trends to modify existing products
Monitor competitive activity to ensure a market advantage across all product lines
Lead with cross functional teams for planning and execution of product initiatives
Conduct product management team meetings:
oWeekly R& D meeting
oCreative review and approval meetings
oNew product approval/initiative meetings
Create pricing models for cross selling and up-selling of products
Develop optimal messaging plans for products and enhancements to be used by call center and web distribution channels
Create metrics to evaluate performance and allow management to effectively drive business decisions on a quarterly basis

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business or Sciences; MBA preferred
10+ years of marketing experience, including consumer product management of food or beverage
Proven ability to create and manage product portfolios
Hands on understanding of product management and R&D functions for diverse product lines
Proven track record of identifying market niches for appropriate product extensions
Familiar with common concept/product testing and market research methodologies
Knowledge of pricing methodologies and experience successfully cross selling and up-selling products
Ability to work independently as well as to influence and motivate others for results
Commitment to quality and innovation
