Director Customer Service & Logistics

Our client is a well established global consumer goods company with offices in northern California. We are currently reviewing resumes for Director, Customer Service & Logistics. Looking for top caliber director level candidates with an extensive background in food/beverage products and a successful track record of driving change. Manage and develop the Customer Service function (Domestic, Import and Export), warehouse, freight and logistics (import and export) functions for North & South America.  This includes developing collaborative customer service relationships with Customers, developing strategies for new inventory management and freight relationships with developing our Import and Export function, developing and managing a new warehouse network model and introducing continuous improvement and performance management with 3PLs. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage process improvements to streamline Customer Service interface with Customers.- Lead the development of the systems (and processes) that will support the vision of the Order to cash process cycle.- Roll out/deliver and manage the VMI/Collaborative planning relationship.- Manage company and 3rd party warehouse operations in US and Canada.- Manage the outsourced operation for Company samples/mailing. - Inventory management systems and processes.- Introduce performance standards and continuous improvement in these operations.- Manage the logistics of Imports into the Americas and exports from the Americas to international market.- Work with our global service providers for optimal service and costs.- Manage all transport and freight components that are handled e.g. deliveries to Distributors and bulk tank movements.- Look for and present opportunities that maximize our service to customers and are cost effective.- Look for opportunities to improve cost profile.- Manage financial, contractual and working relationship with 3rd party operators.- Manage spend for all people and overhead related expenses/investments, warehouse, transport and logistics operations.- Manage approved Capital expenditure.- Create annual budget for these functions. REQUIREMENTS: - 7 – 10 years previous professional experience in related field or function required, including Import/Export supply chains. - College degree in Business, Logistics management or Operations desirable.- Consumer packaged goods industry experience is a must.- Demonstrated excellence in leadership and development planning for people. Experience in managing teams and performance management. Develop clear and aligned KPOs with appropriate stretch.- Ability to work with and problem solve with senior 3rd party and Distributor personal.- Ability and comfort with independent decision making.
