Our customers view us as valued partners in their success.The Data Center Operations Support Technician core responsibility is to ensure that the department's vision/mission is adhered to so they deliver value added services that are cost effective and meet customer satisfaction. Expectations include:Ensure that DCS provides a stable and reliable data center environmentDeliver services to our customers that meet or exceed their requirementsManage the data center problem resolution process to resolve quality related issuesRegular and effective communications are provided to impacted parties and those that need the informationMaintain an accurate data center asset inventoryRegularly re-evaluate our process and procedures so as to ensure that they support our visionEnsure that all DCS policies and procedures are adhered toAdhere to and practice the MBM Guiding PrinciplesWill be 100% compliant with all applicable local laws, regulations, guidelines and contracts, including those of Koch Business Solutions that pertain to safety, IT controls, integrity and securityCreate and manage KBS Records in accordance with the Code of Conduct and RIM Standard throughout their lifecycle including practicing careful communications, classifying Official Business Records, applying Holds and security, reviewing Non-Official Business Records frequently and participating in annual Official Business Record review. Job Requirements: Performs routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals. Loads and unloads peripheral equipment such as tapes for operating runs. Performs off-site shipping procedures and manages receipt of returned tapes to the data center. Assists with installations and de-installation of network cables, servers and peripherals. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Preferred work experience and skills: Has experience as a computer operator Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Education: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience.
