Credit Correspondent/Analyst

General Responsibility Monitor collections and disputes in billing of specific accounts receivable customers.   Specific Responsibilities · This position will be responsible for initiating collection calls to delinquent customers to acquire payment. · Work with the Order Entry, Sales, Co-op and Compliance Departments to resolve non-payment issues (deductions, chargeback’s, etc.). Issue necessary credits and enter into the Oracle system. · Resolve deductions through research and by contacting the customer and sales to obtain additional information; log all deductions into the Oracle system. · Work with IT Department to resolve EDI issues that cause payment delays and retransmit EDI invoices via Oracle interface. · Identify and alert Credit Supervisor of any unresolved issues or potential problems that may negatively impact the organization. · Review any open credits and payments to determine proper application. · Review orders on hold and determine if it should be released based on a sound credit decisions. · Preparation of weekly reports on progress made with accounts, collections and deductions.  · Responsible for calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages. · Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Job Requirements: · Five or more years experience in credit/collections, preferably in a high dollar corporate environment and accounts receivable experience · Bachelor's Degree in a business field preferred or equivalent experience. · Must have a strong background in the retail industry; with knowledge of EDI, co-op advertising, and familiarity with general customer chargeback’s. · Organized. Attention to detail. PC literate in Microsoft Office. Creative yet practical in problem solving. Working knowledge of D&B reporting and Oracle software desired. · Must be able to prioritize tasks, utilize time efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. · Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are necessary. · Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things. · Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; contributes to building a positive team spirit. · Understands business implications of decisions.
