Industry leading automated material handling and robotic systems developer and manufacturer has immediate need for long term Contract Mechanical Designer to assist project engineers and application engineers in the concepting, design and development of new and/or modified robotic system drawings/documentation. Prepare and analyze concepts, sketches and complete detail and layout drawings on a variety of complex automated systems. Work independently on the development of original designs or adaptations. Analyze concepts for feasibility, customer satisfaction, price/performance and quality issues. Work with outside suppliers of hardware and components. Work with outside design companies and suppliers. Requires Associates degree and 5+ years in mechanical systems design.Requires machine design (industrial equipment), automated systems design, robotics a plus. AutoCAD drafting experience and proficiency in Solidworks or Solid Edge.
