Continuous Improvement/ Supply Chain
Coordinate and strategically identify supply chain performance improvement opportunities across and within our plants, distribution centers, DSD system, and suppliers across all Business Units. Responsible for Continuous Improvement system design, effective problem-solving techniques, the design and management of performance improvement initiatives, training and coaching of field personnel in all of the above, and advising the senior executives on the nature and progress of network wide improvement activities. Establish meaningful metrics across all sites to monitor performance and identify the nature and cause of problems through effective problem solving methods. Lead root cause problem solving process, once the issue/opportunity has been identified, to ascertain the best solution/improvement for that site and/or all plants as a whole. Communicate and coordinate solutions with other Continuous Improvement Leaders. Diagnose and evaluate performance (safety, cost, quality, service, delivery) challenges. Develop and implement solutions based on Continuous Improvement and transformation principles, tools and techniques. Work with field locations to design common work standards, quality control charts and systems, and other elements of superior manufacturing practice to aid plant improvement. Serve as support for the VPs and Directors of Operations to ensure success from implementation through sustainability of Continuous Improvement Process. Create alternative methods of production control and scheduling that use best practice techniques and better connect the plant and its suppliers with customer and seasonal demand patterns. Train and coach plant personnel in these and other capabilities. Direct and oversee the rollout of these activities at assigned facilities. Perform audits on Plants that have implemented the Continuous Improvement Process. Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred. This positions require a high level of travel and can be located in a Major Metro City Minimum of five years functional process improvement experience in a manufacturing plant environment required. Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods company a plus. 5+ years experience implementing change using multiple Continuous Improvement tools ie: Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production Systems, etc. Proficient at using Problem Solving tools, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. HIGH TRAVEL POSITIONS. CAN BE BASED NEAR ANY MAJOR AIRPORT.
