Collections Specialist JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: This position has primary responsibility for performing collections, maintaining credit lines within Company policies and improving cash flow and minimizing bad debt.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:? Perform AR collections and follow-up on past due invoices including: making daily collection calls to customers regarding the status of payment of outstanding invoices; researching and resolving issues identified; providing backup to customers; developing payment plans for delinquent accounts, obtaining authorization, and monitoring results? Provide regular reports including status updates on AR position, problem customers and other collection related issues which arise; assist in updating monthly AR reserve analysis.? Perform collection follow-up on freight claims, D invoices, and other cash amounts due to company.? Assist Credit Operations Manager in completing credit application on new customers, including reviewing D&B reports and trade/bank references.Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. Education and Experience:? High School graduate? 2-4 years commercial collection experience? Prior experience with accounting software? Excel and WordB. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:? Excellent communication skills, oral and written.? Strong analytical skills? Good organizational skills? Ability to work effectively with a variety of people? Ability to multi taskNONESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:? Associates degree in accounting or related preferred? Background in manufacturing helpful
