Position Purpose:
· Identify, analyze and provide insights to the sales team regarding trade opportunities, category, item & customer insights and trends.Â
·  Educate business managers, sales, marketing, and customer service on opportunities, trends, insights & information for use in sales materials, goal setting, forecasting, inventory management, and developing actionable selling stories.Â
·  Support, refine and/or develop the tools and processes necessary for efficient and accurate forecasting, scenario planning, sales performance reporting, and goal setting.
· Synthesize channel intelligence and analytical insights into retail account specific presentations, charts, or reports for use by sales team. Â
· Monitoring and coordination of VMI account ordering and inventory reconciliation.Â

Scope/Responsibilities:
·  Ownership of comprehensive sales reporting and analysis.
·   Analyze, interpret and make conclusions from Edifice retail sell-through data.
·  Determine methods of analysis and make recommendations based on findings.
·   Present findings including reports, narrative analyses, graphs and charts.
·  Prepare customized, initiative or account analysis for internal or external presentations and profitability / performance analysis.
·   Responsible for developing, maintaining, updating and delivering standard monthly, quarterly, weekly or annual reporting to accounting or within sales.
·  Key participant in forecast process providing customer specific insights regarding volume, distribution, promotional and merchandising trends.
·  Provide category analysis and aid in the development of fact based selling stories for category reviews and new item introductions
·  Maintains integrity of customer, item, and other sales data in systems/database.

Experience & Education: Minimum 3+ years of category/sales analyst experience preferably in the consumer product or related retailer environment. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field preferred.

Qualifications:
·  Proven experience using and analyzing financial data to make decisions and recommendations that will maximize profitability. Strong numerical and analytical skills – in-depth knowledge of analytical tools, models and methodologies.Â
·  General understanding of consumer product and retailer sales processes, procedures and policies.Â
·  Strong proficiency in use of spreadsheet and reporting tools
·   Advanced PC skills with an emphasis on data extract and import, manipulation, reporting and interpretations using Microsoft Excel, Edifice data, Exact-Macola ES, or other similar applications.Â
·  Well developed problem-solving skills and sound decision making.
·   Understanding of customers, accounts, competitors and retail trends preferred
·   Knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
·   Must have the ability to communicate effectively with clear, concise verbal communication internally or externally or through writing in memos, emails, presentations and reports.
·  Experience conducting research on marketplace trends
·   Project management skills – the ability to apply project management skills to manage multiple projects & timelines.  High degree of organization and the ability to manage competing priorities Excellent administrative skills…good attention to detail and follow-up, etc. Self-starter – high energy, results oriented, sense of urgency / work pace Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills- ability to build and maintain strong relations with internal and external sales team, other departments and customers. Must have strong system skills, both as a user of existing systems, and proficient at developing recommendations for further improvement in systems & processes that will unlock future improvements in business processes.
