Home Products International is a leading manufacturer and marketer of housewares to the mass merchandise, specialty, home improvement, food/drug and hospitality channels.  Products are marketed under the HOMZâ„¢ brand as well as various private labels with a focus on product innovation and superior customer service.  Products span multiple categories including Storage, Garment Care and Home Organization.

 

The Position

The Company is looking for a Category Director for Storage who will report directly to the EVP, Sales & Marketing. Its major purpose will be to drive category leadership through continuous market research, product development, strategic planning and product line maintenance.  This key contributor will manage a small team of 2-4 product/channel managers and will be responsible for the annual operating plan for the category and the identification, definition and implementation of the product development agenda.  Will manage existing product lines to drive cost improvements and increased margins and will determine research needs to understand competitive landscape and customer needs.  Participate as needed in customer line reviews and interface closely with operations to ensure customer satisfaction. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.  10 year’s experience in mid and senior level marketing positions with some people management responsibility.  Demonstrated track record in mass retail and consumer products.  Must be excellent written and verbal communicator, team oriented with business maturity having had margin responsibility/accountability.  Send resume to:
