Business Systems Analyst
Koch Mineral Services, LLC subsidiaries specialize in marketing and trading coal, petroleum coke, various carbon products, cement and related materials, fertilizer, sulfur, and pulp and paper financial derivatives, in addition to nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing and dry bulk ocean transportation and logistics. Its subsidiaries operate terminals and docks located along the U.S. Pacific Coast, Great Lakes and Gulf Coast, as well as northern Europe and South America. In addition to expanded nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity in North America, affiliates also have interests in Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. In total, the company's fertilizer interests have the capability of producing about 7.5 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Mineral Services is looking for a motivated individual to join our IT Automation Team. This is a full-time role reporting to the KMS Information Technology department at our corporate headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. The automation Team is responsible for integration and management of an enterprise system which automates the loading of bulk product into transport vessels (railcar and truck). The current focus of this team is integration and support of the system for our Koch Nitrogen fertilizer business which has locations throughout the Central Plains and Canada. The candidate selected for this role will be working closely with Information Technology peers in the Wichita office, Operations personnel in the field, and the Engineering resources of various KMS field projects. The typical workday of a successful candidate for this role will entail: 24x7x365 (shared) monitoring and remote troubleshooting of the automation system, addressing customer requests for support, identification of value-added enhancements for the system, configuration of the existing system to meet business needs, and continued integration of the system at remote facilities in need of automation.Job Requirements: • Available for on-call rotation requiring some after-hours support • Travel up to 20% of the time (most travel is within the continental U.S. but some international travel may apply) • Familiarity with real-time SCADA systems in support of operations and production environments • 5+ years experience in related fields • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering, Microsoft networking, server management, and relational databases • Proven organizational, project management, and communication (verbal & written) skills • Associates Degree in the field of science or VoTech school Preferred • Experience with field devices such as Programmable Logic Controllers and the network communications necessary for their operation • Experience with operations and measurement and control devices • Knowledge of the bulk fertilizer industry and related compliance obligations • Bachelors Degree in Control Systems or Engineering Compensation/Benefits Competitive wages and benefits packages commensurate with experience.
