Position Title: Brand Manager - Analyst
Position Summary:
The Brand Manager - Analyst is primarily responsible for leading the planning, execution and evaluation/analysis of the company’s “go to market” strategy. This includes development of pricing strategies, promotion strategies and distribution strategies across the various categories and channels in which we compete. This position is also responsible for analysis of syndicated data, promotion spending and promotions. The Brand Manager - Analyst will be responsible for brand and customer P&L’s, and will also lead the forecasting process, and maintain trackers to monitor execution against key strategies and initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct quarterly brand review of key brand metrics or specific business-related issues to management
Conduct ad hoc analysis across customers, channels, competitors, and brands
Develop company-wide tools and reporting methodologies to monitor new item execution to include tracking customer acceptances and shipments, product distribution goals, and speed to shelf goals
Perform merchandising pre-and-post-event analyses and communicate findings and results to Sales and Marketing
Develop company-wide tools and reporting to track pricing initiatives and objectives
Provide “lessons-learned” recommendations to assist in annual planning process
Facilitate and share best practices across the sales team
Develop standardized reporting tools and methodologies across categories
Be knowledge expert on IRI and internal reporting systems
Lead ongoing training for sales managers related to business analysis
Perform category and brand analyses using syndicated and shipment data and make recommendations
Develop and communicate brand Distribution, Merchandising, Promotion and Pricing objectives and strategies by channel/customer. (Pricing objectives to include target everyday price. Promotion objectives to include depth and frequency.)
Track and monitor shipments and consumption vs. plan and projection
Communicate to management specific account, region or channel performance highlights or concerns
Provide reporting and insights to management during forecasting process on incremental volume and merchandising activity
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree
Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Crystal Reports
Strong finance, math and analysis acumen and skills
Brand and category knowledge
Excellent written and oral communication and skills
Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work without direct supervision and efficiently manage tasks and time for self and department team
Ability to work in a team environment and to be an effective leader
Education/training skills that include the ability to motivate, coach communicate (written and oral), organize and lead people and projects
