Auction System Administrator
Responsibilities -Provide onsite support for all systems (PCs, servers, laptops, portable wireless terminals, network based printers, portable based printers, 802.11 wireless products, etc.). Any additional technology based hardware that the facility may have in use that supports the business. -Setup, install and troubleshoot LAN, WAN and PC hardware under the direction of C/MIS-Work with C/MIS on any urgent initiatives (e.g. software upgrades, o/s upgrades, anti virus updates, etc.).-Assist auction personnel in defining and presenting requests for new application programs or changes to the existing system to the C/MIS.- Adhere to C/MIS policies and procedures in an effort to maintain standardization and limit system outage.-Perform established backup procedures on the ISeries, NT servers and PCs.-Act as intermediary between Manheim Corp. and auction system users.-Maintain User profiles and insure system security.-Maintain the structured wiring system. -Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.-Maintain hardware and software inventories.-Maintain computer supplies and inventories.-Provide system orientation (PC, ISeries, portable terminals, printers, etc.) for new employees.-Perform other duties as assigned by auction management and / Manheim Corp.-Ability to work after hours and weekends.
Qualifications Education-Bachelors degree preferredExperience-Help Desk/technical support experience required.-A+ and MCSE certifications preferred.-ISeries / AS400 operator experience preferred.-Phone System experience a plus.Skills-Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic and documentation skills.-Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.-Ability to multi task.-Basic knowledge of the iSeries (AS400) operating system and / or hardware a plus.Experience troubleshooting Windows 2K-XP and Microsoft Outlook (2K and 2K3), Office (2K, 2K3)-Basic network troubleshooting experience.-Excellent organizational and analytical skills.-Ability to communicate clearly with people of varied skill levels.
Job Description The Auction System Administrator (ASA) is responsible for keeping all data systems at their specific auction site operating. The ASA will setup new hardware, install new software and install upgrades as instructed by corporate MIS (C/MIS). The ASA will act as the intermediary between the auction users and the help desk to assist in problem reporting, tracking and resolution. The ASA will be responsible for training new auction employees with PC and ISeries fundamentals.
