Accounting Manager - Commerce, CA

SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONAssist the Controller and Assistant Controller in maintaining the Company’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures.  Assist in financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting.  This accounting manager will bring in a fresh perspective on reducing M/E lead time and improving communication with external audit staff. ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL ANALYSIS REQUIREMENTS· Help coordinate annual audit and quarterly reviews· Assist in preparation of annual report and footnotes· Assist in preparation of quarterly external financial reporting and Parent-Company reporting· Identify, document and research accounting and system issues based on analyses· Communicate possible resolutions verbally and in writing· Assist in month-end accounting processes· Prepare or review monthly account reconciliations· Help create, generate, review and distribute relevant monthly senior management financial reports and information schedules· Assist in preparation of management and departmental financial and operational monthly and annual reports· Prepare audit, review and tax schedules· Assist with supervision of Accounting Department Staff (5-7)· Work on special projects as directed by Assistant Controller, Controller and Chief Financial Officer· Acquire in-depth understanding of G/L and G/L query systems and look for opportunities for better utilization· Assist in other accounting areas (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll) as needed· Assist in review, revision, writing and implementation of financial and operational policies and procedures as needed. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the above duties.  Qualifications for this position are: 1) possession of bachelor’s degree, 2) Certified Public Accountant certification with an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and 3) minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience performing related duties and/or general accounting duties. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and prepare financial statements.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.  Strong organizational skills.  Ability to work independently to find, define and solve accounting issues or problems.  Must be able to communicate conclusions in writing and verbally.  Required computer skills include strong Excel skills, word processing, internet software, E-mail, and accounting software. This is an exempt salary position All qualified resumes should be e-mailed directly to joseph.aguilar@parkerlynch.com for immediate consideration.
