QC- Quality Control Coordinator

Job Title: Quality Control Coordinator in Austin TexasConduct Contract Document reviews and assist the Project Delivery Team with job site inspections to ensure that the project is constructed to the highest levels of quality possible in accordance with the documents. Organizational RelationshipReports directly to the Superintendent or Project Manager. Keeps Superintendent or Project Manager fully aware of all Quality Control activities as it pertains to work in place on the Project. AccountabilityAccountable to the Superintendent or Project Manager for Project Quality Control the successful completion and close-out of the project.. The QC Personnel will be directly responsible for; assisting the Superintendent or Project Manager with the Quality Control and coordination all subcontractors work and timely completion of the project.Principal Responsibility and DutiesCorporate Survival - Financial Indicators, thorough understanding of contract drawings, specifications, and scope of work and requirements.1. Facilitate establishment of a project specific Q.C. Plan with the project team2. Monitors contract documents for discrepancies as the work is installed and notifies appropriate persons of conflicts3. Conduct document review and confirm working processes are in place for coordination between all quality control tracking tools, i.e. schedule, expediting log, submittal log, close-out log, plan log, Q.C. testing log, proposed change log, Architectural Supplemental Instruction log, Rework Log, etc.4. Facilitate Project Team in developing a Pre-work meeting Agenda Template. Template is to include review of plans, specification, submittal requirements, schedule review, coordination with other trades, evaluation of quality issues, design concerns, construct ability, code issues and close-out. Develop subcontractor project specific agendas for review by the project team prior to each pre-work meeting.5. Facilitate Subcontractor Pre-work meetings with support from the project team.6. Conduct formal start of installation inspections to review compliance with contract documents, use of approved materials, coordination with other trade, etc. and any issues raised during pre-work meeting. Deficiencies noted at start of installation inspection are to be reviewed with installation supervisor and documented in the Rework Log for tracking until resolution.7. Conduct periodical inspections to review continued compliance with contract documents and coordination between trades and with changes in the work. Additionally through field observations, support project team in recognizing upcoming activities to avoid out of sequence work activities. Deficiencies noted during periodical inspection shall be documented to appropriate installation supervisor and shall be tracked until remedied on the Rework Log. 8. Conduct formal 40% inspections to review job progress to date and document all quality issues, design concerns and code issues. Punch lists are to be generated and corrective action required to be reviewed with appropriate installation crew supervisor. Corrections are to be verified by Q.C. Mgr. and noted on Rework Log as completed Experience - External: Minimum 5 years experience in construction industry with Bachelor of Science degree.
