Internal Auditor Needed!

Power Design is currently seeking an Internal Auditor to join out Accounting Department at our corporate office in St. Petersburg, FL!

Responsibilities: BASIC FUNCTION:
The Internal Auditor will conduct independent audits to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the company’s operations. They will examine internal controls by testing the policies and procedures set in place to ascertain whether the results are consistent with established corporate goals and objectives.


POSITION OBJECTIVES:
* Monitor compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices and documentation.
* Assess and recommend improvements to internal control structure to promote company efficiency and safeguard company resources.
* Render impartial and unbiased judgment by remaining independent and objective.
* Identify areas in which efficiency, effectiveness and economy may be improved.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Collect data, any relevant documentation, and interview key personnel.
* Analyze and evaluate facts to draw valid conclusions.
* Complete audit work papers and memoranda by documenting audit tests and findings.
* Maintain accurate, organized records.
* Communicate audit progress and findings by preparing concise oral and written reports.
* Make recommendations for improvement on the systems and procedures being reviewed.
* Protect our organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
* Assist management by conducting special examinations when requested.
* Follow up on the progress of implementation of the recommendations made to management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
* Highly organized and detailed oriented.
* Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
* Proficient in Excel and Word (Timberline Software experience a plus).
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Maintain professionalism and Integrity.
* 2-5 years related work experience with knowledge of auditing preferred.
