Eldridge ParkwaySuite 120Houston,Texas 77041 Phone : 281-671-3300 Fax: 281-671-3302 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Engineering Experience: 5+ to 7 Years       Job Description    The Fire Sprinkler Design Manager position manages the SimplexGrinnell Mechanical Design department which designs sprinkler systems and special hazard fire protection systems. Responsibilities include directly supervising designers, performing quality control reviews, conducting project meetings, forecasting design costs, design scheduling, and design of fire sprinkler systems. Responsibilities:  -Design of new and existing sprinkler systems, including preparation of basic calculations and  project submittal drawings.-Supervise internal Sprinkler Designers and external contract Sprinkler Designers.-Prepare as-built drawings and end of contract documents.-Contract scheduling from design stage to completion of installation at set deadlines.-Review of sprinkler design drawings and calculations.-Work closely with Sprinkler Construction Manager and Sales staff. Qualifications: -At least 5+ years experience in the fire sprinkler design industry.-Working knowledge of AutoCad 2000/2007, SprinkCAD, hydraulic calculations, stock listing and technical products.-Proficient in the use of personal computers to include operating systems such as WindowsXP/NT/2000-NICET Certification 3 or NICET Certification 2 with the ability to obtain Level 3 within the agreed upon time frame.-High School diploma or equivalent.SimplexGrinnell is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  M/F/D/V.
