We currently have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Safety Manager in our Minneapolis District office located in Burnsville, MN.The qualified candidate should have knowledge with standard safety practices, must be able to plan, implement and supervise multiple safety programs, comply with corporate safety program standards and have strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations. Responsibilities include: •Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contacting supervisory personnel•Assist safety program by developing and implementing employee and craft safety orientation training•Conduct work area inspections, conduct investigations to determine causes and corrective measures for property damage and personal injury, including handling the district workers comp. program•Document all safety violations, unsafe conditions, and measure remediation or corrective actions.•Review documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as needed•Accompany all safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. Coordinate/assist in preparing written appeals for safety violations citations•Additional assignments per district manager's or corporate Director of Environment & Safety requestPosition Requirements:Educational and experience requirements include: - Occupational Safety/Health degree preferred or equivalent combinations of training and experience - ASP/CSP not a requirement but preferred - At least ten years commercial construction safety experience with strong knowledge of the construction industry - Thorough understanding of OSHA, state, federal and local laws, and ability to enforce laws and policies - Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential to this position - Good interpersonal and communications skills requiredPlease indicate salary requirements on the cover letter.Position Attributes:PCL offers one of the finest benefit programs in the industry including medical, dental, Rx, vision, life, AD&D, disability, 3 weeks of paid vacation, FlexAccount, 401(k), stock ownership and much more.
