Chief Electrical Estimator

We have an immediate need for a Chief Estimator. This position will be located at our Fullerton, CA Headquarters.

 Job Duties:

 

Ø  The Chief Estimator is an integral part of the construction process in producing accurate estimates, which ensures SASCO’s competitiveness, profitability, and growth.

Ø  Responsible for working with sub-contractors and suppliers during the bid process in order to obtain complete bid package information.

Ø  Review proposal specifications, drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Ø  Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into man-hour figures.

Ø  Plan, direct and coordinate activities of a large electrical estimating department.

Ø  Manage and train all levels of estimators.

Ø  Coordinate electrical database pricing and labor units.

Ø  Evaluate and review all levels of electrical estimates.

Ø  Insure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.

 

Preferred Job Requirements:

 

Ø  Minimum 5 years as Chief Estimator in electrical construction.

Ø  Degree in related field desirable but not necessary.

Ø  Familiar with both commercial and industrial large volume projects.

Ø  Design/assist experience is very desirable.

Ø  Experience with complete take off of electrical drawings.

Ø  Must have ability to work fluently with McCormick electrical estimating software.

Ø  Able to understand architectural, structural, mechanical and related drawings.

Ø  Ability to work on and complete an estimate without guidance.

Ø  Ability to calculate loads in accordance with N.E.C. is a big plus.

Ø  Excellent general computer skills (Excel, MS Project, Word, Outlook)

Ø  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
