Back Office Operations Manager - Installed Sales

SYNLawn is the Nation’s largest manufacturer ofsynthetic landscape grass and putting green surfaces and we are looking to filla key position in our Operations department in our Southern CaliforniaHeadquarters.

 

We are seeking an individual with extensive experiencein an Operational Capacity

 

Preference will be given to candidates with experiencein:

 

An Installed Sales Environment and / ora

Home Improvement Environment. and /or a

Landscape Construction Environment

 

Examples- Marble and Granite Kitchen CounterFabrications and Installations, Kitchen Cabinet Fabrication and Installations,Carpet Installation, Window Installation, LandscapeConstruction.

 

The position will be based in our Showroom Headquarters/ Warehouse & DistributionCenter in Van Nuys, CA.

 

The position will require working as part of anOperations Team that interacts with our Sales and Accounting Departments to formthe Operational Engine of our organization.

 

We are looking for a candidate thatcan:

 

Order and track material shipments for our projects;Allocate inventory for our projects; Ship and receive our products for ourprojects; Assign crew resources for our projects; Confirm with customers theirinstallation dates and verify prior to installation that all necessary work iscompleted; Re-schedule on the fly; Order required materials; Assign equipmentand vehicles; Manage job costing; and provide feedback on processimprovement.

Qualified candidates will have solid computer skills- MSWord, Excel, Outlook, Project or Prima Vera a plus, and the ability to use adata base with training.  Quick books experience is a big plus.  Bi-LingualEnglish / Spanish is a big plus. 

 

Experience dealing with processing inventory orders,shipping and receiving inventory items for distribution and / or installation byour crews, managing work orders and contract packages, scheduling installationsfor 8-10 installation crews, dealing with the public and contractors are allhighly desirable.

 

A strong knowledge of the geography and traffic patternsof Southern California will be a bigplus.

 

The ability to multi task, deal with a busy and changingschedule, proactively solve problems, anticipate problems and develop solutions,learn detailed product information, pay attention to detail and be highlyorganized is equally desirable.  We are a fast passed company with growing painsthat hurt so good.

Job requirements include:

  Assembling and coordinating bid packages and contract packages. Scheduling installations Ordering inventory – tracking inventory orders Allocating inventory and maintaining stock of inventory Interacting with the warehouse operations staff to manage crew activity Interacting with the teams from our Sales, Accounting and Warehouse departments as part of out overall Installation Management Process. Covering showroom hours and acting as a back up for inside sales as needed The ability to lift and move heavy objects- as much as 50 to 75 lbs Coordinating information with Sales People in the field Work hours potentially from 6:00 AM until 4:00 PM with the availability to work over time and some weekends. A valid California Driver’s license and clean driving record
